Reset Password
This chapter describes step by step how to reset the password of a user.
If the password was forgotten or is not accepted for any reason the password should be reset. This is only possible if the IoTHub is able to connect to an email server. If the IoTHub runs behind a firewall or has no connection to the internet, the user must inform an administrator of the IoTHub to receive a new password.
Step by Step to a new password
- Click the Forgot your password? link at the login page
- Put in the username of the user to change the password and click at the Send E-Mail button.
- The confirmation page appears and tells, that an email was sent to the address associated with the user. In the case an error is thrown in this step, the email module of the IoTHub is not properly configured or started.
- Open the email sent to the email address and click at the Reset Password button. This forwards to the login page and the old password becomes invalid.
- A second email was sent to the same email address with the new password . If it is necessary the IoTHub login page can be called by clicking at the Go To Login button.
